 Positions available:

Essential functions: The physical requirements to these positions, include but are not limited to picking up and carrying a child of minimum of 40 pounds, and mobility necessary to reach a child quickly in an emergency. Work will be conducted indoors and outdoors, and with animals of various kinds.

Elementary Spanish Teacher (2020-21)


Montessori School of Durham is seeking a Spanish Teacher to plan and implement small group Spanish instruction for children grades 1-6, using a combination of our established curriculum and innovations by the teacher, coordinating as needed with curriculum in students’ base classrooms. Meet with each small group weekly. Prepare a short report on student progress twice yearly for parents and occasional short pieces for the school newsletter. 


Position is 12-14 hours per week, with hours in the morning and early afternoon. School year runs August 17, 2020 to June 4, 2021. Planning time is allowed weekly.


Desired skills: Prior teaching experience is required, preferably in a Montessori setting. Initiative and good organizational skills are a must. Criminal and reference checks required.
