I joined the MCHD community in 2015 with over 20 years experience working with children. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Media with a concentration in photography from Fitchburg State University. While working in NYC as a photographer’s assistant, I volunteered in a daycare that served low-income single mothers in New Jersey. I soon realized that working with children was where my heart was and changed career paths. I worked in traditional preschools in Austin and Chapel Hill for 13 years before discovering Montessori. I received my Early Childhood Credential (AMS) through the Montessori Institute – New England and was an Early Childhood Co-Lead Teacher at the Newburyport Montessori School in Newburyport, MA. I moved back to Chapel Hill with my husband and two children, Nora and Tallulah, both Montessori alumni and have started taking pottery and sewing classes. I love spending time with friends and family, swimming, thrift shopping, cooking, and eating!
