Positions available:

Essential functions: The physical requirements to these positions, include but are not limited to picking up and carrying a child of minimum of 40 pounds, and mobility necessary to reach a child quickly in an emergency. Work will be conducted indoors and outdoors, and with animals of various kinds.

 

Early Childhood After School Instructor: 

Montessori School of Durham is seeking a part-time Early Childhood After School Instructor for the 2020-2021 school year. The Early Childhood Instructor facilitates indoor & outdoor play, lunch, nap, social time, arts & crafts, and cooking activities for students ages 3-6 years in the after school program. Hours vary from noon to 6 pm. The After School Instructor also works the set-up week, orientation camp, spring break camp, and No School Camp days. These dates require flexibility and availability for work outside the normal shift hours. Applicants must be punctual, reliable, professional, and nurturing. References and criminal background check required. Childcare experience is required, previous experience in a Montessori setting is preferred, but not required.

Substitute Teachers:

Montessori School of Durham is seeking Substitute Teachers for classrooms and After School programs serving children from 18 months to 12 years old for  the 2020-2021 school year. Hours vary depending on Teachers’ needs.  Applicants must be punctual, reliable, professional, nurturing, and willing to learn Montessori practices. References and criminal background check required; teaching or childcare experience is required, previous experience in a Montessori setting is preferred, but not required.
