Positions available:

Essential functions: The physical requirements to these positions, include but are not limited to picking up and carrying a child of minimum of 40 pounds, and mobility necessary to reach a child quickly in an emergency. Work will be conducted indoors and outdoors, and with animals of various kinds.

Office Manager:

Montessori School of Durham is seeking an Office Manager. This is a challenging and dynamic position, requiring initiative, attention to detail, and excellent communication. The Office Manager coordinates a complex daily schedule so a candidate must possess exceptional organizational skills, be able to multitask, have demonstrated successful experience working in a fast paced environment supporting a team of colleagues, and have the following required skills: database management, record keeping, communications, publishing, technology maintenance, and organizational/time management. The applicant should be personable, outgoing, service oriented, a team player, as well as have exceptional judgement, professionalism, and discretion in the handling of confidential matters.

This full-time, year-round, salaried position begins in January 2021. Workdays are Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours. MSD offers competitive salary and benefits, including 100% health, dental, and disability insurance, leave days, vacation days, retirement contribution, need-based tuition reduction for faculty children, and funds for professional development.

Bachelor’s degree, references and criminal background check are required; 3-5 years work related experience, marketing, and development experience a plus. Experience working with G Suite for Education, Finalsite, Mailchimp, Adobe Pro, or Montessori Records Express also a plus.

Montessori School of Durham serves children 18 months through 6th grade and is located in SW central Durham, NC on a beautiful 7-acre campus.

Substitute Teachers:

Montessori School of Durham is seeking Substitute Teachers for classrooms and After School programs serving children from 18 months to 12 years old for  the 2020-2021 school year. Hours vary depending on Teachers’ needs.  Applicants must be punctual, reliable, professional, nurturing, and willing to learn Montessori practices. References and criminal background check required; teaching or childcare experience is required, previous experience in a Montessori setting is preferred, but not required.
